Welcome to Pediatric Hospitalists of Conroe
The goal of Pediatric Hospitalists of Conroe is to provide quality hospital care to infants and children. Our pediatric hospitalists have completed a pediatric residency training program and are board certified by the American Board of Pediatrics. If a physician refers patient care to a pediatric hospitalist, they will receive the same quality care as provided by their own physicians. Our hospitalist will communicate any changes in the hospital course of treatment, as well as the hospital stay overview, to the child's regular physician and arrange appropriate follow-up care with them.
Our pediatric hospitalists are available 24 hours a day 7 days a week. They treat a variety of infectious diseases of the skin, blood, lungs and kidneys. They also treat respiratory diseases such as pneumonia, croup, and asthma. They can provide intravenous treatment for dehydration as well as providing post-operative and post-injury care with our surgeons and orthopedists. They are also available to consult on pediatric patients at the request of the attending physician.
What is a Hospitalist?
A hospitalist is a physician who specializes in seeing and treating hospitalized patients.
In the same way that cardiologists specialize in the care of heart patients, hospitalists are physicians who specialize in the care of hospitalized patients. Many patients are being treated by this new kind of doctor - a doctor who isn't their family doctor, but who is responsible for their medical care during a hospital stay. They work as partners with a patient's primary and consulting specialty physician to provide patients with the highest standard of care during their hospital stay.
